Ale and Jhos at ~ 3 & 4 years old
Maid of Honor :: Ale Sosa
Ale is my oldest sister and by oldest I mean 10 months and 18 days older. Ever since I was born she has been present in my life and has been the best friend anyone could have asked for. We have fought and made up countless times, and yet she doesn’t seem to be getting tired of me. Ale has been one of my pillars on my numerous life adventures and probably the reason why I ended up doing my masters in Cincinnati, where I met the love of my life.

When we were little girls, Ale and I were partners in crime for everything, but most of the time it was Ale who got us into trouble and I would just stick with her because she wasn’t only my best friend but the person I looked up to. She has always been the wild one, while I was the quiet and shy sister, so she helped me get out there and do crazy things like jumping off moving swings, exploring the scary woods that was our backyard, riding our bikes jumping huge mud mountains in our yard, building day shelters and bridges across the creek that would grow “huge” in the backyard. Those were fun times and I know my childhood was that good because of her companionship. Once we got older, the mischiefs got bigger, and of course the pattern hasn’t changed – after all she is the wild one. She is and will always be one of my role models and my “partner in crime”. That is why I can’t think of anyone else to be standing by my side when I start on my new and endless life adventure.

Matron of Honor :: Liusmar Villamizar
I met Liusmar when I was 13; we were in high school and I honestly can’t remember how we became friends because we are incredibly different. She is wild and loud, and those who know me know I am very quiet and more of an introvert. However, she would always bring out the fun side in me and I would put some seriousness into her life, so we complemented each other very well. Over the years Liusmar became a sister to me and we have shared unbelievable life experiences – seriously – unbelievable but not shareable, sorry.

As you would expect from a sister, Liusmar has given me so much strength and support during hard times and we have also cried tears of joy in the good times. She is a sister to me not only because of the love we share, but because no matter how hard the times get, we have always managed to hug it out and continue to grow the love between us. Our lives have been crazy and because of that Liusmar and I haven’t been living in the same city, country or even continent for the longest time, however when we meet it is like the time hasn’t passed and we go back to be the teenage girls we used to be, giggling at everything, especially after a few drinks – and by the way, she is my favorite person to party with.
I remember how I cried so much at Liusmar’s civil wedding, it was overwhelming to see my best friend marrying the man I knew she shared all that love with, and now it is my turn to have that amazing moment and I can’t wait to have my chosen sister standing next to me when I say I do.
